An Advertising Free World

Advertising has no place in my life. I recycle it as soon as I get it. It makes us buy lots of things, that we don't need with money we don't have. And yet, we are exposed to it all day long. Print media, TV, Internet, radio, billboards, it's everywhere. How do I get rid of it?

The company Yankelovich, Inc. calculated the average person is exposed to roughly 5,000 ads per day. The source nytimes.com, reported this finding in 2007. I don't know about you but I have the suspicion that number has increased since then.

For TV and radio, it's simple: just do without these sources of media. That does not mean you can't watch a movie or TV show, we no longer live in an age where that is a requirement. Streaming has filled this gap and is mostly ad free. Personally, when I want to watch a TV show, I watch it on Prime. No ads.

On the Internet side of things, there are very good options to block ads when you browse, which installs very quickly and block almost all advertisements.

All that remains is to find a way to stop seeing the billboards installed in the city and by the roadside and we can finally live in a world without advertising.
